The Art and Science of Turnaround Leadership
In an effort to ensure continuous and sustainable improvement in student achievement, too many short-term,
piecemeal efforts have been tried and failed.
Participate in an in-depth study of a systems-approach for
creating sustainable improvement and learn turnaround-leadership
skills needed to successfully transform a high-need school.
Leading edge content includes:
1) The five stages of turnaround leadership
2) Related research findings
3) Best practices for implementing whole-school reform
4) Warning signs in decline and failure stages
5) Implementation strategies in the reaction, re-organization, and recovery stages
Participants will understand the personal attributes needed to
identify or become a turnaround leader and the professional
strategies to create a successful turnaround situation.

Using a Strengths Based Model For Leadership and Professional Development
Assess your leadership strengths using the Strengths Based Leadership
model currently in use in education, business, and community institutions
across the country. Learn how to better use strengths to work more effectively
with others, empower teachers and students, and create school cultures and
climates of positive growth.
Participants receive a free copy of the book, Strengths Based Leadership,
which contains a self-assessment of leadership strengths.
